Recently the FP team put together a baby shower for our Tamny, our Senior Retail Buyer.  With each person chipping in, we were able to compile a collection of must have items for newborns.  Baby Boden will be a clean machine (at least for a little while) thanks to a whale washing bin and wash cloths!  Also included were sporty onesies and bibs.  It’s never too early to start dressing for success.  Congratulations Tamny!

When Connie walked into our FP Phoenix store it was love at first sight!  Connie was planning a beach wedding at Carlsbad, CA and when she tried on our new Tuscan Floral Tango Dress she knew it was a match made in heaven.  “The dress was absolutely perfect for the day as I felt so incredibly comfortable.” she said.  A big thanks to Connie, husband Paul, and ring bearer Lottie the dog!

This holiday season, the Accounting department got really into the holiday spirit. Our very own Jean Eulian, gave most the office their very own personalized scarf, scarves that she had been working on all year! She studied what colors the men and women wore in the office and then would knit everyone a scarf in their “colors.” She is still working on getting scarves done for everyone in the office, and can’t wait until everyone’s is done! Jean says she finds relaxation by knitting and really enjoyed this little secret project.

At the end of that week, a total donation of $160 was sent to the American Cancer Society to celebrate our own FP Team Members remissions.

And the best present from all day?! The snuggie, I mean it is a blanket with sleeves!

Lynn, our fearless leader, can find humor in any situation. When she is out on the floor there is always laughter. She is also our cowgirl, race car driver, wannabe rockstar, electrician, plumber, computer geek and overall token nerd!

Kathy, the taskmaster, can be counted on to finish any task no matter what. She can be selling, re-folding, unpacking, talking to herself (answering herself!), ringing up sales – all at the same time. Kathy is never without her tube of Chapstick – and we think it may be that she has a secret knight in shining armor hidden nearby!

Silvia, our store “mother”, is the youngest of our crew but takes care of us all as if we were her own children – so we’re always on our best behavior or else…. Silvia has countless funny stories she shares with the customers about her children; there is never a dull moment with Silvia – but watch out if you leave a project for a minute – she’ll clean up your hangers before you’re done, earning the nickname Hanger Harriet!

Joanne, miss sassy and tells it like it is, can do it all. When she’s not selling the clothes off her back, she can be found out dancing till the wee hours of the night. Our party girl always has a contagious smile on her face and a witty story that will have you fall down laughing. Joanne is also our part-time model and fun-haver extraordinaire!

Not pictured is Gigi, who worked so hard she broke her foot! We miss having our action-packed storyteller, complete with arm and body gestures, to amuse us and our customers. Gigi has the most generous heart and is always good for a hug and a smile. We hope she recovers soon!

This holiday season FP decided to have an office wide food and clothing drive to help out those less fortunate in our area. What’s the best way to get everyone involved? A great competition. Our office broke up into teams labeled with our favorite FP colors; Team Citrus, Team Sangria (go team!), Team Caribbean, Team Juiced, and Team Peri. Each team had 3 weeks to get friends, family, and everyone they knew to help them raise enough donations to win a mysterious  grand prize. We collected everything and turned away nothing. Everything from warm blankets and jackets to fun new and loved toys, and tons of bulk food items (Thanks Costco!) The toys were a huge hit in the office as they blinked and whizzed around the office bringing laughter and cheer.

It gets pretty freezing here in Boulder,CO and this year we decided our donations would partly go to the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless who are a key member of community assistanace here in Boulder. They provide several services like basic shelter amenities, mail and phone services, and transitional housing for those in danger of becoming homeless. The rest or our donations went to OUR Center in Longmont which helps the homeless pave their way back to self sufficiency by providing child care, a clothing bank, a food bank, rent, utility, and transportation assistance.

The 3 week competition was fierce and finally in the end two teams tied! Team Peri raised the most clothing with 5 huge bags and boxes full of children and women’s warm clothing, while the Team Citrus raised the most food with 7 overflowing  gigantic boxes of comfort food items. Everyone really gave all they could in this hard economic season and in the end we gathered over 23 boxes of a variety of items.

But the giving didn’t stop there! Even after was all said and done, both winning teams had won a magnificent lunch on FP and instead of taking the present, both teams paid the money forward onto both of our donation recipients! Team Peri took it another step further and also forwarded their annual FP Holiday Dinner gift cards as well!
